Clinical Massage
One treatment, drawing on targeted massage and craniosacral technique, matched to what your body needs.
Clinical Massage is a hands-on, targeted treatment for aches, pains and long-held tension. Ania draws on techniques from clinical and sports massage, alongside the more subtle, listening work of craniosacral therapy, matching the approach and pressure to what your body needs that day, firmer and more structured where there's a specific issue to work through, quieter and stiller where the nervous system needs settling rather than muscle.
It's a good fit for chronic neck and shoulder tension from desk work, tension headaches, lower back pain, recovery from injury or surgery, and the kind of restriction that builds up from repetitive movement, driving or sport.
Every session starts with a short conversation: what you're carrying in, what's been going on physically, and whether there's anywhere she should leave alone or focus on.
Sessions are held at ProActive Therapies in Honingham. Ania will send a short health questionnaire before your first appointment, so the time is used well from the start.
Craniosacral therapy
Craniosacral is the quieter side of this work: subtle and less hands-on than massage, it works with the patterns the body holds rather than the muscles directly. It is often where long-held tension, the kind that has not shifted with more direct treatment, finally begins to settle, and it suits tension headaches and jaw tension, recovery from surgery or accident, and a nervous system that has been running hot for too long. Rather than a separate appointment, Ania weaves craniosacral seamlessly into a Clinical Massage session wherever it is the right fit, moving between hands-on work and this quieter approach within the same hour. You are welcome to ask for more of it when you book.

What to expect
A short conversation about what's brought you in. Depending on what that conversation reveals, you may be asked to do a few simple movements so Ania can see where things are restricted, or you may go straight onto the couch. What you wear depends on the work: shorts or underwear if the session leans towards massage, or you can stay mostly clothed during craniosacral work. Ania will explain what she's doing as you go. At the end, a few minutes to come back into the room, then a glass of water.

On Clinical Massage
"I had neck and shoulder pain from years at a desk and had tried everything. Ania found tension I didn't know was there and worked through it methodically over four sessions. The difference in how I feel at the end of a working day is significant. I wish I had come sooner."
"Had a frozen shoulder for about eight months. Physio helped but there was still this wall of tightness that wouldn't shift. Four sessions with Ania and I can reach the top shelf again. She works slowly and precisely and actually explains what she's doing, which I appreciated."
"I was sceptical, and said so. Ania listened, explained nothing more than she needed to, and let the session speak for itself. I left feeling untangled in a way I couldn’t quite name. The persistent headaches I’d written off as just how I am have mostly gone."
"I found Ania after surgery when nothing was quite settling back into place. The work is incredibly gentle, which surprised me. After each session there is a stillness that lasts a few days. I didn’t expect bodywork to feel like this."
