Online Yoga at Blossom is genuinely live. You join a small Zoom room, Ania can see you, and she adjusts her teaching in real time, slowing down when the room is tired, offering more challenge when energy is high, calling out individual cues by name. It is not a pre-recorded video library: if you cannot make the live class, you get the full recording to do in your own time.

All you need is a mat, a clear patch of floor, and any props you have to hand, a firm cushion works as a bolster, books work as blocks, a long scarf works as a strap. Ania will demonstrate each pose from her own mat so you can always see what’s being described, and she checks in verbally with every student at least once per class.

Online classes suit a surprising range of people: regulars who travel for work, students who’ve moved away from Norwich but kept practising with me, parents of young children, people living further out in Norfolk or Suffolk than a weekly drive allows. It also suits anyone who simply prefers not to walk into a new room, social anxiety, post-illness fatigue, busy weeks when the commute is the part that stops you coming.

The teaching quality is identical to my in-person classes, and the community is real: most online regulars know each other, meeting occasionally in-person at a class when they’re able.

Your first session

What to expect

You’ll receive a Zoom link by email upon booking, with a reminder sent 24 hours before. Join five minutes early, Ania will greet you, check your set-up, and answer any questions. The class runs exactly as an in-person session would: centring, warm-up, main sequence, supported rest, closing. You’ll be visible to Ania in a small gallery so adjustments can be offered. A recording goes out within the hour and is available for a week for catch-up.

FAQs

Questions about Online

Do I need fancy kit?

No. A mat, a firm cushion, two books, and a strap or scarf will cover almost everything. A laptop or tablet is better than a phone, but a phone works too.

Can Ania really see me?

Yes, the groups are kept small enough that Ania can check in with every student by name. Keep your camera on where you can.

What if I miss the live class?

A recording is sent out within an hour and is available for a week. Many students mix live and catch-up depending on their week.

Is this a good way to try yoga before committing to a live class?

It can be. Beginners often find it less intimidating than walking into a new hall. Many go on to combine online and in-person classes.

What happens if my connection drops?

You can rejoin via the same link. Even if you miss ten minutes, the recording will cover what you missed.
