Yoga retreats in West Lexham

West Lexham Manor is one of Blossom Yoga's retreat venues, a beautiful country estate near Swaffham, set in walled gardens, ancient woodland, and a surprising eco-pool. Day retreats are full of yoga and include Hatha Yoga sessions, meditation, and quality time in genuinely beautiful grounds. The drive from Norwich is thirty-five to sixty minutes, depending on the route; the day itself is worth every mile.

West Lexham Manor sits in a quiet fold of west Norfolk, thirty-five to sixty minutes from Norwich depending on which way you come. It is a remarkable place, a country house turned retreat venue, with formal walled gardens, ancient woodland sweeping to the edges of the property, and, unexpectedly, a spring-fed eco-pool tucked between the gardens and the trees. In summer you can swim in it during retreat-day downtime.

Day retreats run here usually on a Saturday. The format is full and quite intense: arrival from 9:30am with tea in the gardens, a ninety-minute morning yoga session in the beautiful Orangerie, our base for the day, a nourishing seasonal lunch at the long table, then time to swim in the river or pool and explore the grounds while practising your meditation. The afternoon brings a restorative yoga session and a guided meditation, and the day closes with tea, cake and quiet goodbyes.

The venue itself is one of the chief reasons to come. The practice room is warm, the food is excellent, and the grounds are the kind of place that quietly does half the restorative work before Ania speaks a word.

Students come in from across Norfolk, from Norwich itself, from the surrounding villages where the weekly classes run, from King’s Lynn and Downham Market nearer the venue, from Fakenham and Swaffham close by. Some stay over at the manor’s accommodation if a full day’s return journey feels too much; most drive home in the early evening light.

A local tip from Ania

If you have the time, come via Castle Acre, the priory ruins and the village green make a beautiful stop either on the way in or on the way home. In summer, bring swimming things for the eco-pool and a picnic blanket for the walled garden.

Voices from West Lexham

"A day at West Lexham with Ania was exactly the pause I needed. Good food, good movement, quiet woods, and enough space in the day to actually think. I’m booking the next one already."
