Clinical Massage
Targeted, evidence-informed bodywork for specific pain, injury and mobility issues.
Clinical Massage sits where “sports massage”, “myofascial release” and “remedial bodywork” overlap. It is more targeted than a Classic treatment and more interactive: you will be asked questions, you will sometimes do small active movements against Ania’s hands, and the session will focus on the specific areas contributing to the issue you came in with.
Ania will send you a health questionnaire before your first appointment. A short movement assessment follows, nothing gymnastic, just a few simple ranges of motion to show where things are restricted. Then we work, using a combination of broader soft-tissue work to settle surrounding muscles and precise technique on the restricted or painful tissue itself.
Typical issues Clinical Massage addresses well: chronic neck and shoulder tension from desk work, lower back pain (often hip-driven), iliotibial-band tightness and knee irritation in runners, frozen shoulder and post-surgical stiffness, whiplash and historical neck trauma, postural pain from driving, cycling or nursing. Pressure is negotiated throughout.
Most clients come for a short focused course (three to six sessions) until the presenting issue resolves, then return periodically as life re-loads the same patterns.

What to expect
Expect conversation, a short movement assessment, then targeted bodywork on a warm couch. Wear or bring shorts and a loose top so Ania can access legs, hips and shoulders without fuss. Pressure is negotiated throughout. You may be asked to move gently during some techniques. At the end, we’ll discuss what was found and what a short course might look like.

On Clinical Massage
"I had neck and shoulder pain from years at a desk and had tried everything. Ania found tension I didn't know was there and worked through it methodically over four sessions. The difference in how I feel at the end of a working day is significant. I wish I had come sooner."
"I have lower back problem for many years. After two session with Ania I notice big difference. She find the exact place where is the tension and work on it very carefully. My doctor was also surprised how much better it become. I come regulary now."
"Had a frozen shoulder for about eight months. Physio helped but there was still this wall of tightness that wouldn't shift. Four sessions with Ania and I can reach the top shelf again. She works slowly and precisely and actually explains what she's doing, which I appreciated."
